BUILDBASE BMW MOTORRAD READY FOR KNOCKHILL.

21/06/2012

The Buildbase BMW Motorrad team is all set for the weekend’s BSB and Superstock 1000 races at Knockhill. The Scottish round of the championship has been affected by heavy rain and storms in both 2010 and 2011, which has led to tricky racing conditions in the past. Forecasts for this weekend suggest a mix of rain and some sunshine, which the team hopes will hold true and give them a chance to further improve on their recent successes.

Superstock 1000 rider Steve Brogan is fifth in the Championship, with 23 points separating him from the current leader.

British Superbike riders Dan Linfoot and Barry Burrell took 10th and 11th place finishes at the last round, held at the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk.

Stuart Hicken, team principal, said: “The team and I are all looking forward to getting back out on the circuit at Knockhill. It’s a great track, even if it is occasionally a bit wet. Both the riders and their S 1000 RRs are in good shape: Howie has recovered from his crash at Snetterton and we had fantastic help from Bitubo’s chief technician, which enabled us to further improve our suspension setups.

“We’re just over a third of the way into the season and we’ve had some very promising results. We’ve shown great speed, taken some silverware and have improved the already impressive 2012 BMW S 1000 RRs. From here we are aiming for the top spot in the Superstock 1000 championship, which we won in 2011, and to keep improving our results in BSB.”

This weekend’s racing will be broadcast live on British Eurosport 2 from 12:30 on Sunday.
