BMW MOTORRAD GS TROPHY.

The legendary GS Trophy stands for adventure, sweat, challenge, foreign cultures, camaraderie and lots of riding fun - a unique motorcycling adventure you could never buy. It’s all about being part of a community, having a shared adventure, unparalleled off-road passion and getting to meet fellow enduro enthusiasts from all over the world in an unforgettable experience. 2013 will be a qualifying year, in which BMW Motorrad will select the national teams from around the globe who will represent their country at the final in 2014. The UK qualifying round will be held at the famous Walters Motorsport Arena Complex, home to BMW Off Road Skills. The two-day event in the summer of 2013 will be open to all GS owners. The first day of the GS Challenge, will include a range of on and off-road tasks, testing riding, navigation and teamwork, and will be lots of fun.

The road sections will be undertaken on the rider’s own motorcycle, with the Off Road Skills fleet of BMW GS bikes available for the off-road challenges. Riders can complete as many or as few of the challenges on the first day as they are comfortable with. However, to progress to the second day you will aim to complete and score well in them all. For those who qualify for day two of the GS Trophy Event, the challenges will get tougher, with riding ability and team-work being thoroughly tested. After all, the riders have big shoes to fill - Team GB spectacularly won the International Final in South Africa in 2010.

The three best GS owners will be chosen to represent the UK at the GS Trophy International Final in 2014. The destination for the 2014 finals is yet to be announced but with 2010 in Southern Africa, 2012 in South America, 2014 is sure to be the biggest and best GS Trophy yet! There will also be a whole host of other BMW-themed prizes for riders  and owners taking part. The UK Qualifying Weekend, encompassing the GS Challenge and GS Trophy Event, will be held on 27-28 July 2013. The weekend costs just £150, including access to the BMW GS Trophy Campsite, where we encourage you to join us! If you want to hone your skills and get ready for the biggest challenge of your riding lifetime, BMW Off Road Skills will be running GS Trophy Training Course being held on 09-10 June.
