BMW Individual Premium Training (IPT).

Solo Riders

For riders who prefer individual attention, the bespoke IPT course is designed to cater for a rider’s specific requirements.

All IPT courses are based around one-to-one training with the rider and instructor, who will perform an initial assessment of your riding before structuring the course to meet your needs and personal objectives. This may be to reach the RoSPA standard or simply to address a key issue you have with handling or riding a motorcycle. This can be done on your own or with a partner or friend riding pillion.

This course is available to all full motorcycle licence holders, irrespective of experience. There are no fixed dates for IPT, instead we will endeavour to arrange your course on dates that best suit you.

Rider & Pillion Passenger

We can also tailor a course specifically for a rider and pillion to address the unique set of challenges faced by riding two-up. There’s no set syllabus, as every riding pair will have different objectives, but there are a number of common areas which we can help with – as well as more specific needs.

What will it cover?

  • ‘Preparing to Ride’ routine (so you don’t get hot and bothered before you start)
  • Getting on and off the bike safely for rider and pillion
  • Preparing your bike for travelling two-up
  • How the handling of the bike changes with a passenger
  • How to corner smoothly two-up
  • Passenger – how to hold and move with the bike
Requirements for Road Skills and IPT courses.
  • A full motorcycle licence from the UK or any EU nation is acceptable
  • International riders must bring a local, unrestricted licence
  • If using your own motorcycle it must be roadworthy and fully legal with proof of insurance and MoT pass certificate
  • BMW Rider Equipment is available free of charge, however, you will need to supply footwear. We recommend motorcycle boots but some form of sturdy, comfortable footwear is essential
