History was made at the Goodwood Festival of Speed as the HP4 RACE joined a host of its roundel-sporting counterparts to make its UK mainland debut on the famous hill climb.

The carbon-fibre framed superbike was paraded up the track by professional racers and journalists alike, allowing the gathered crowds to experience the limited-edition model in is full glory.

Lining up alongside the HP4 RACE at the iconic event – held in West Sussex from June 29 to July 2 –   were a number of other important models including Ian Hutchinson’s Tyco BMW TT bike and a S 1000 RR Sport.

One of the talented riders was French Superbike and World Endurance racer Kenny Foray. The 32-year-old swapped between the BMW Machinery on the hill.

At the end of day two, he commented: “This is my first time at Goodwood, it’s been an amazing show. I’m a lucky boy because today I’m riding the HP4 RACE. This bike is just fantastic, it’s so light, it’s just incredible to ride. I’m also riding Hutchinson’s TT bike.”

Meanwhile, flagship Motorrad models shared the four-floor pavilion with a selection of BMW cars. The S 1000 RR Sport and the S 1000 R Sport joined the M series models, while the R 1200 GS Rallye lined up alongside BMW’s X-drive vehicles. Finally, the recently launched C evolution Plus was perfectly at home among the latest BMWi cars.
