To protect your privacy, Barrie Robson Motorcycles follows different principles in accordance with practices for customer privacy and data protection.

  • We won’t sell your name, address, telephone number, email address or any other information you share with us to any third party.
  • We will only share your information with BMW (UK) Ltd where required due to the sale of a Motorcycle or Products or Services that require the transmission of your data to carry out the transaction in line with GDPR.
  • Barrie Robson Motorcycles requires personal information relating to customers to manage its business in an efficient and effective manner; this data is subject to the Data Protection Act 1998 and updated GDPR Act 2018. Barrie Robson Motorcycles wishes to act and comply with the principles of this Act and will always be as transparent with the customer as possible in relation to the data we hold and the way in which we use it. We always ask that if you have any concern about the privacy of your data please contact us by phone or in writing and we will always make time to discuss any concerns you have.

Generally, this information is requested when you sign up to mailing lists on our website, visit our Retail Centre, Take a Testride or Courtesy vehicle from our Retail Centre, enter a contest, order, email, or join us as a customer. We use your Personal Information for three primary purposes:

To carry out the sale of vehicles, goods or services specific to you as an individual

To contact you about warranty, recalls or service work on your vehicle

To keep you updated about Events, News and Offers relevant to your requirements.

At introduction and as a pre-cursor to the sale of vehicles, goods or services we may require all or some of the following information:

  • Full Name

  • Telephone Number
  • Mobile Number
  • Email address
  • Driving Licence Details

In the event of requiring Finance as an intermediary we may also require:

  • Bank Details for Direct Debit purposes
  • Age for reference to finance restrictions and for AFRL registration 
  • Payment Deposits
  • Employment History and name of employer
  • Details of previous address
  • Driving Licence details


What do we do with data?

  • Store it on secure systems
    • For use with vehicle details,
    • For reminders for safety and security
    • For warranty issues relating to the manufacturer vehicles.
    • Where you have signed up to a company Mailing List we will contact you with regards to products, services and Ride outs etc only using the data provided
      for that purpose. If we hold your data separately on our accounting system that data will not be used for this purpose.
  • We pass the details on to finance providers to gain finance on behalf of the customer
  • We take payments in order to both finalise invoices and to order vehicles as well as reserving vehicles and products.
  • We have to provide finance houses with address and employment history – we do not keep a record of employment history on our own systems.

CONSENT

If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still use most of our website at www.barrierobsonmotorcycles but you may not be able to access areas that require registration or further information.

ACCESS

We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current. You may review and update this information at any time at our retail centre. You can:
