New for 2024, we visit two of France‘s most beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Rocamadour and Carcassonne.
Sweeping south, we head for Reims, the heart of France and the coronation place for many Kings before the Revolution. We avoid main roads where possible in favour of the quiet D roads to experience France’s small, shuttered villages and towns. We pass the famous Millau Bridge as we head for the destination of Carcassonne, the fortified City in the region of Occitanie. Kilometres of defensive ramparts make the old city of Carcassonne one of the largest medieval walled cities in Europe.
We make our way to Rocamadour, the stunning village clings to the cliffs above the L‘Alzou. A place of legend and history where stone houses, majestic towers, and a castle keep cascade off the cliff into the Alzou Canyon below.
Our penultimate day will be spent riding through the tranquility
of the La Brenne Regional Natural Park and sweeping countryside. This tour has plenty of scenic riding plus relaxing days to enjoy some of the iconic sights available.
