Tracking one of the most daring raids of the Second World War, we retrace the story of 617 Squadron ‘The Dam Busters’.
Heading from the Ardennes into the dramatic Ruhr valley, we’ll visit the Peace Museum at Remagen before arriving at Hagan. Then a charming 130-mile ride awaits as we span the Ruhr and visit the Mohne and Sorpe Dams made famous by the iconic Operation Chastise.
Our next stop overlooks Edersee, as our route winds in and out of every bay onto our home for the night, a local Schloss (castle). Enchanting medieval towns and the UNESCO listed Rothenburg ob de Tauber allow you to discover local traditions on your free day, before heading towards Baden Baden and one of the ultimate motorcycling roads in Europe, the B 500. From Baden Baden we head back to the Ardennes via the Butte de Montsec First World War Memorial for the final night in a Chateau Fort and a farewell dinner.
