We depart from Portland and head east, visiting Mount Hood National Forest and Smith Rocks State Park along the way. From the quaint city of Bend, we venture off to Idaho State Capital, home to the State Capital Building and the fascinating Penitentiary Museum, then to the charming town of Lava Hot Springs where we can soak away any aches and pains.
Spot Bison, Wolves and Eagles as this iconic US route takes us to the Wild West Town of Cody, including a nightly Rodeo if you’re up for the challenge! Weather permitting you can take a helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon, and then it’s all aboard an enjoyable water raft ride down the Colorado River.
After two nights in Vegas, the only thing between us and California, is traversing Death Valley before we head for the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway. Our trip wouldn‘t be complete without riding across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
